Schedule Assessment
What are your program plan and schedule challenges and are you positioned to overcome them?
MCR’s technical expertise combined with our proven process for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated master schedules (IMS) that are fully integrated into risk and earned value management systems ensures that our assessments results in recommends used to make informed management decisions.
MCR begins with an evaluation of the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to ensure key milestones, significant accomplishments required to meet each milestone, and the criteria that must be met to satisfy each accomplishment are clearly defined to facilitate performance measurement. We then evaluate the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks and logic for consistency with the WBS and IMP. This ensures that the lower-tier schedules support the higher level objectives and all product/task interdependencies are identified (vertical and horizontal traceability). Our schedulers evaluate the credibility of the critical path, perform Monte Carlo simulations to verify duration/budget estimates, and run schedule diagnostics. We use automated macros and simulation exercises that quickly identify logic errors, float issues, duration issues, and produce other indicators to verify the quality of the schedule data. Finally using our proven checklist of schedule quality and integrity we provide a report outlining recommended improvement to both the schedule structure but also the program schedule itself to increase the likelihood of success.
Key Benefits
- A fully integrated process that includes risk in the schedule development and analysis process.
- Schedule data serves as the basis for the performance measurement baseline assessments;
- Confirmation that schedule tasks and resource requirements are the basis for budget/estimate cost data and the schedule status provides the source data for calculating earned value
- Confidence that the system will provide the data they need to manage the program and to take swift management action when needed to handle a realized risk or other issues
